About Laurent

Laurent Demerlé graduated from the prestigious Van Der Kelen Painting Institute in Brussels in 1989, where he was awarded the bronze medal diploma for his outstanding technique and performance.  Post-graduation Laurent settled in San Francisco, where he has been in business as a painting contractor for over 20 years, licensed since 1995.
     
Laurent specializes in high-end residential work, and has also painted bistros, restaurants, and clubs in Paris and San Francisco.  His approach combines traditional techniques, historical references, and an impeccable eye for detail.  He brings a vast knowledge of design styles to his work, from French Renaissance to Victorian, Arts and Crafts to Mid-Century Modern.  He is passionate about mixing the old and the new, and welcomes the challenge of taking an old space and making it livable and comfortable for modern life.  Laurent has appeared on several episodes of HGTV's Curb Appeal.

Laurent is a native Parisian who travels to France yearly to catch up with family, friends, and the current design directions.
